Clean eating healthier nutella

Mmmm Nutella and Healthy? It’s true! I use 100% pure food ingredients, without extra chemicals and processes and I discovered a way to make you my favorite spread (love it in my homemade pancakes) and is a lot better for your waistline. I recommend to use Bittersweet chocolate (can be chips) since they have no refined sugar, but if you just can’t make the switch, this homemade Nutella Spread is s much better for you than the traditional (forgive me God). On bread, fruit, pancakes.... Anyway, you use it, clean eating Nutella is a delicious, sweet, tasty, and help you stay skinnier and still have your favorite treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hazelnuts, (peel them)

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (for gluten and dairy free try Enjoy Life Brand and for no added refined sugar try SunSpire Bittersweet chips...grain sweetened) yum yum!

  • 3/4 cup lite coconut milk, canned (almond milk or soy will work)

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey

  • Pinch of sea salt (or Kosher)

Directions Preheat oven to 275 degrees. On a cookie sheet spread and roast the hazelnuts approximately 15 minutes. Remove and wrap the hazelnuts hot in a kitchen towel and let them cool 10 minutes. Remove skins by rubbing with the kitchen towel. Discard skins. In a medium saucepan, add the chocolate chips, milk, honey and salt, turn to low heat and heat until chips are completely melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Add hazelnuts to the food processor and pulse until is a butter-like paste...about 5 minutes. The nuts will have a slightly grainy consistency thou, is okay, just a little is fine. Add the chocolate mixture to the food processor and pulse again until well combined with hazelnut butter. Add the homemade nutella to a bowl, allow to cool completely, transfer to a glass container, cover and refrigerate. Nutella will thicken after being refrigerated. Fats in the recipe come from healthy fats only, from the hazelnuts and coconut milk...remember both are superfoods packed with health benefits. Enjoy it!
