Vegetarian burgers on ciabatta bread with saute onions and avocado

If you are a vegetarian or in transition to be one, I recommended making this portobello mushroom burger sandwich. Instead of the burger patty you will use the portobello mushroom cap condiment with steak seasoning made at home, instead of mayonnaise for the dressing you will use hummus with roasted peppers, add avocado, muenster cheese, saute onions and tomato with lettuce and you have a delicious vegetarian sandwich, that not only will have no meat but...will taste as good or better, because of the steak seasoning on the mushroom cap and no animal fats!

Ingredients

1/4 cup Hummus with roasted peppers 1/2 sliced onion 1 small avocado, thinly sliced 2 portabella mushrooms, sliced 1/4 in. thick 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt mix with half teaspoon of black and red pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon organic garlic powder 3/4 of a 1-lb. ciabatta loaf split horizontally (I got me one with olive oil and roasted garlic cloves and rosemary) 4 slices of muenster cheese (2 per sandwich) 2 medium tomatoes, sliced 1 cups Romaine lettuce

Preparation 1. Heat a frying pan on low-medium heat with one spoon of the olive oil . Meanwhile, Brush the Bella mushroom caps with the other oil teaspoon and sprinkle with the ground red pepper and black pepper and salt mix, saute the mushroom on the hot pan until soft and darkened for like one minute each side then take it out and set aside, add the onion and brown in low heat. 2. Meantime cut each loaf half into 4 pieces, spread the bread with the hummus like you would do with mayonnaise. Add the cheese, set aside. 3. Make the sandwiches, add the vegetables hot on top of the cheeses half (portobellos caps and onions) then the tomatoes and lettuce with the avocado slices. Serve with a pickle if you wish. Enjoy !
